I am a Sport and Exercise Physician, mother of two and lover of all Hawke's Bay has to offer: sun, food, wine and outdoor adventures!
I graduated from Medicine at Otago University and came to the Hawke's Bay as a Junior Doctor. After a year in General Practice I transferred to Sports Medicine and have been working in this field since 2011. I started my advanced training in Sport and Exercise Medicine in 2014, spending two years in Wellington and two years in Melbourne. I finished my training with a fellowship at High Performance Sport NZ (HPSNZ), where I worked solely with elite athletes.
I am currently the team Doctor for the Silver Fern's and am Medical Director for Netball, HPSNZ. I have also worked with women's football, travelling to both Japan and Canada for U/21 FIFA World Cups in 2012 and 2014 respectively. While in Australia, I worked with an AFL team in the TAC Cup. I have also worked with a variety of endurance and other team sports, at the recreational, club and elite level.
A sport and exercise physician brings expert opinion, diagnosis and management for musculoskeletal injury. I enjoying seeing patients with knee and shoulder injuries, foot and ankle injuries, and hip and groin pain. I offer treatments for acute and chronic tendinopathies and plantarfasciopathies. I aim to keep patients active while recovering from injury.
